time travel
Topic: If you could go back in time and change one thing what would it be?
Groves: I'd probably do something selfish, like buy a winning lotto ticket.
Ond: Technically if you went back in time to buy a "winning" lottery ticket this very sequence of events would change the future, giving way for a different winning number being drawn out this time around. So you'd have wasted your time travelling opportunity to buy a losing lottery ticket.
xie: This isn't really true at all. Assuming that he's operating under the assumption that time is linear, not a "many universe" theory, his purchase of a lotto ticket should in no way alter the outcome of the previously determined random drawing.
Chromis: I'd go back to about 1940 and somehow convince the Japanese to attack America. I'm still convinced tht if America had joined the war in time then the Allies would never have lost.
UndyingShadow: Ohh fuck, one of you lottery idiots split the time-line and now they're intermingling.
